Another great from the pen of holly Webb

( written by Sydney age 8)I love holly Webb books - this is another good one. It's quite a sad story about a puppy named Alfie who has to go to a rescue centre because Evie's mum has a new baby. I liked that Evie was so excited about getting a puppy! Because I know that feeling!

My five-year-old son loved it

From the back cover, "Evie is overjoyed when she is given her very own puppy, Alfie. Alfie adores Evie - he loves to be cuddled, sleeps on her bed and welcomes her home from school every day with a wag of his tail. But it's not long before another new member of the family arrives: Evie's baby brother, Sam. Suddenly no-one has much time to look after Alfie, let alone play with him and take him for walks, and soon he finds himself unwanted and all alone....."My five-year-old son chose this book based on the cute puppy on the cover. I have just finished reading it to him. It is quite a gentle story with attractive illustrations every few pages. It is a litle bit sad when Evie is too busy with her new brother to take Alfie for a walk and what they call in the cinema "mild peril" when Mum & Dad think that Alfie may be a danger to the new baby, but of course it is all a big misunderstanding and is resolved happily by the end.A nice book to read aloud from age four or five and for older children to read independently.

It is a nice sweet book !.It was a bit sad.You mite fall in love with it as you read along!I think I felt how the character's felt as I read more and moreI thought it was real!
